I overall enjoyed this short set of essays about the complexities of at times offensive public monuments, particularly those involving Confederate war heroes and the like. A bit thin and/or tedious to read at times (admittedly it is a somewhat narrow area, so more likely to be geared to specialists) but novel and important subject matter. The author is known for his liberal scholarship but also grew up and worked in the South, so the subject has a certain personal concern to him. I was not totally convinced with some of his reasoning at the end but it's a worthwhile read.

INTERESTING.

Thhis is a very balanced, broad based review of the subject, although Levinson writes in the heavy scholarly style that is appropriate to his distinguished status as renowned legal scholar.

An intriguing and interesting viewpoint into the real controversies that still are present within our nation today. The author finds a neutral way to present the information in a factual manner that challenges you, the reader, to be the one to decide how monuments and spaces of controversy can be best dealt with.

Ed Brody does an amazing job creating a world that is very interesting to read about, and keeps you wanting to learn more. I always get sad when I get to the end of the book!The amazing part of this is all the "history" in the world that builds on itself and allows for a great story building element, but at the same time you know that the world isn't even that old and just adds to the wonder of the mind of the creator. I've been a huge fan of this series since the very first book, and each book gets better and better each time; its really great to see Ed continue creating work this amazing at the pace he does so at.I am looking forward to the next book (hopefully many books!) in the series and hope there are more secret badass characters like Eanos who will appear! :-DGreat job on another great book, and am excited to see what comes in the future!

I felt that the 5th book in the series was better than the 4th one. I'm still not a fan of the main character but I love this world. A new character was interesting. He was a pro-gamer back on Earth and you saw that a bit in his tactics. He just acted differently than the other characters had. I understand that the MC will make mistakes but he constantly fluctuates between treating it as a game and treating it as a real world with consequences. So it gets frustrating. Majority of the Reborn act like gamers, so it would be refreshing to see a Reborn who does not have that type of mentality. As much as I want the next Eden's Gate book, I think that the author should make an anthology that explores the other characters so we can get a different perspective as the MC dominates things. Like after they form a Guild, there isn't a lot of opposition to the MC with his guildmates just stating, "I trust you." It would be nice if they had more of a voice. Despite that I devoured this book and cannot wait for more.

i’m enjoyed the start but after chapter 10 it was just to frustrating and annoying to read because no one deserves what Gunner was put through and it was never really explained but all the hints where there even when he was given the chance to help himself he still was manipulated .... till the very end of the book ... i keep waiting for the realization by all the explained methods but it never happened ... and to me that just sucks all the fun out of the book because its a rite everyone is born with and should never be taken away.

I like the Edens Gate series. It’s a good clean read. It has all the elements of a good RPG fantasy based story. The author keeps you invested in the world, the main character, and the supporting cast. I’m looking forward to how this love square works out. I hope the author is constrained by the classic monogamists lifestyle; especially with polyamory becoming/making strides as being an acceptable societal lifestyle.It’s definitely one of my favorite LITRPG genre reads, behind the Land Series and Ascend Online series.

Another excellent addition to the Eden's Gate series. The main character Gunner is trying to increase his skills and power so he can protect his friends and guild mates. From the end of book 4 Gunner was in a not so good place with the discovery of the Reborn. Another fast action and intriguing story in the world of Eden's Gate.

Absolutely fantastic book! It always kept me going for the next page to find out how his new adventure becomes a more intense and complex then it was sent out to be. Never was lost or disappointd, a very well written book and I'm wait very patently for the next one. Thanks for the new adventure, till next time.

Top shelf! Absolutely amazing! The moment I hear that a new book is coming out for this series, I drop whatever I'm currently reading in order to reread the entire series again. And I will continue to do so as long as the series continues, hopefully another 20/30 books :)

Started when the fourth book was out and loved them all. He keeps making decisions that sometimes end up bad and he makes a few mistakes but I think it just makes it all the more realistic. I do hate that cliffhanger at the end of the last book, but the wait was definitely worth it. Can't wait for the next one.

This autobiography of Ravi Zacharias is a very compelling story from start to finish. My opinion of him has always been that he is a super intellect. I have always been in awe of his mind. He is an author who I had to really think hard and concentrate to understand. And yet I find in this book that as a young student, he was a failure. He was repeatedly told by his father that he wasa failure an would never amount to anything. As a teenager he tried to commit suicide. The result was indeed his death, but it was a spiritual death to self as the Lord used this experience to give him a new life in Christ.From his first moment of conversion, he was totally committed. He was even able to find Christian churches in India. He also went to Campus Crusade for Christ meetings. They were alive and active in India!As Ravi unfolds his story, he is careful to reveal how God is always with him in the shadows directing his path.

On page 204, Ravi mentions the difference in communication between two cultures and that is obvious in the writing of this book and his other books too. So, as a Western reader, you may not be accustomed to his form of communication but please don't put it down, keep reading and you will definitely feel the joy eventually. As an African, I am happy that some people still remain original in their verbiage especially in this age where every book is written for the Western audience because "they are the ones who buy books". This is not a slight against any particular culture, I just don't want the diversity to be lost in the search of what's lucrative.Now for the book, first it is just a great story, of course, you need a great story to have a good memoir. It is essentially the story of a man who experienced Matthew 6:33 (But [s]seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.). And it also deals with the often controversial topic of destiny - as one of Ravi's other books "The Grand Weaver" does. God in the shadows - will God just guide us through it all regardless of our own actions to appear at His eventual purpose? What carries us through breaking points in our lives? What is the importance of praying family members? How do our actions, contributions, donations, and prayers affect people thousands of miles away from us? How do we discover our purpose in life? If you have ever thought about these questions, you will find answers in this book. Of course, you have to deduce the answers because this is the story of another man's life but if you want more direct answers, then buy "The Grand Weaver" and read both together.God bless Ravi, RZIM, and his family.

I chose this book because we had anticipated a trip to India and because I knew Ravi Zacharias was a believer, having had the privilege to hear him in a revival at the Mansfield CMA church in Ohio. At the beginning the book was herky-jerky as my father would say. But once Ravi met the Savior it became streamlined and a miraculous story evolved. But I realize that there is truth in this. Life before Christ is herky-jerky at best. But the Lord brings such cohesiveness that life is like the tapestry Ravi looks back and sees, woven by God .

I read this book very quickly. Ravi is an excellent writer and this book is hard to put down at times. A very fast and easy read. Flows very well. His life amazes me when I look at the background he came from. His Christian walk is certainly marked by obedience to our Lord. I love his fire for evangelism.Highly recommended!

Maybe it was because I was going through, at the time I read the book, a lot of struggles and I was seeking (and finding) answers.Ravi Zacharias, if my memory is not deluding me, is the first preacher that I listened to after I started attending church and accepted Christianity as true. I was surprised then to know that Christianity and faith in general could be defended rationally and found this man to be unique in speech and approach (and voice!). And from that time on, till now, I have been listening to his sermons and reading his books and articles.I took up this book on an impulse and I believe it was God ordained that I do so. I finished reading the book within a couple of days, devouring every paragraph. I suggest this book to all those who are followers of Christ and all who believe that they have been called for more than church attendance.At the time I was reading the book, I was a student at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign College of Law. It had been only five months since I had come to the United States, for the first time, from Kerala, India. And I could draw a lot of parallels with Ravi's life in India and the concerns that he had faced the first time he was in a foreign land and surely with his struggles as a student, a son and a youngster.In this book, the reader will find a simple recitation of a man's life, his struggles, his faith and his work for God. Those who are familiar with Ravi's sermons and books will be astonished to find the book written in a simple manner, devoid of his usual verbal richness. This book is as raw as it can be; it's a man speaking explicitly to your heart.In Walking from East to West, Ravi Zacharias retells his life's story or rather, God's story in his life that will help you not only bridge but cross the cultural gap between the East and the West. My manager's free training classes were vague. My manager's free training materials were skimpy. About two months after I resigned from T3 Trading, T3 Live sent me an email that offered me a yearly subscription to the Virtual Trading Floor for $999.50. I was also offered a package of one course (I had three choices) and one year of private mentoring for $1,199.There may be proprietary trading firms that offer its traders an exciting and lucrative career. My description of T3 Trading is meant to help people avoid a situation where the fees the traders pay to the company are more important than the profit the traders make. I worked at T3 Trading for only two months, and each of my co-workers traded five times as many shares as I did. One day, I plan on reading One Good Trade again, and I plan on watching SMB Capital on Wall Street Warriors again. Reading the book and watching the DVD will be more interesting to me now that I have experience as a proprietary trader.

If you are looking for a STORY about a prop firm this is a good book but if you are trying to learn anything about day trading then this book will do nothing for you. Seems like one long advertisement on his prop firm and to me most people that are good at trading aren't selling items to make a living!

This is one of the best book I ever read on the markets. Mike guides you into the world of prop trading, explaining in great detail how it is.There is a lot to learn reading this book. While there are only relatively marginal teachings about how to practically trade, there are many advices on how to succeed in this tough world. This is because if you want to know exactly what they do you have to purchase their expensive training programs. I think they are worthy every penny anyway.Reading this book I learned that tape reading is a key skill to make money, even though no one talks about it. It is really a forgotten skill and it is very hard to find who can teach you. There is also an entire chapter devoted to maximizing your profits that is very helpful.There are many concepts you will find only in the best books on trading. Mike explains very well why and how traders succeed and how traders fail, with many many anecdotes about him and his traders.Frankly, I did not expect Mike and Steve, the founder at SMB to be so patient. They really care about the traders they train and would do whatever it takes to make you succeed. Also I did not know how much money prop firms invest on the traders before they become profitable. They think a trader is a very valuable resource and are willing to invest a lot of time and money on the worthy candidates.SMB is really a top notch firm and I know many people would kill to be there, including me.The book is well written and very funny to read. I laughed hard many times. There are some typos that need to be corrected.

I love this book, very interesting insight into the world of proprietary trading. If you are interested in trading, please give this book a read. It talks a lot about the psychology of trading and what it takes to make it in this business. This book definitely contributed to me wanting and seeking out trading as a profession, and Mike is a very entertaining guy throughout the book. If you have any interest in how prop shops operate, or are interested in the stock market in general, I would recommend this book. I have read it multiple times and it gets more and more entertaining each read!

There are some real nuggets in this book that will make you a better trader. Bella has an entertaining writing style. The book is a great mix of practical, tactical Trading Tips while being entertaining along the way. I love this book!

For some odd reason, amazon linked the review sections of books 1,4, 5, 7 and 8 together. I tried support but there won't be a change so I will add both to this:Book 1:Like any fan of attack on titan; I wanted more while I wait for the next installments.This is supposed to be some kind of prequel to the main story. As typical of the Survey Corps, there are casualties. A wife joins a cult (probably the early stages of the wallests) and they demand to leave. A titan attacks and a baby is later found in titan puke. It quickly becomes the child of the titans. A curiosity but is he really a titan?Time goes by and Kuklo is acquired from a cage only to be locked in a dungeon cell. An item of abuse, someone takes pity on him (hmm Frankenstein's monster?).He starts planning to escape.This is supposed to be a prequel. I am not sure I like it but I am still interested....Book 4:Sharle continues her discussion with Carlo and they learn a few things about each other. Kuklo ponders his fate in prison and meets a prison buddy.Kuklo is sentenced and tossed on a wagon to meet his fate. An unknown person slips him a knife. Is his supposed to escape?Punishment is banishment and once outside the wall they escape. Kuklo's ability to sense titans kicks in and they run for it. The titans give chase and Kuklo has to be the hero again.Things don't go well and they find themselves surrounded. A strange rope becomes their rescue and they meet their helper from the wagon who in turn takes them a way in a wagon.Kuklo learns his new friend is a soldier and their rescuer is a legend.They also learn of a device.I can say now I am taking a liking to this story line. The characters are getting interesting and the titans have a different look to them which avoids the same look of Attack on Titan.Book 7:Xavi deals with the Titan Worshipers and we get to see the "character" of the MP Captain Bernhart. She requests something of him and it appears to involved the industrial city.Jorge is back and it's decided to field test the device with Titans. The problem? How to get him outside.The plans work without a hitch and we get to meet a new person who might be reason Wall Maria has it's name.As field tests are prone to have problems; such is the case. Kuklo and Cardina must deal with several titans. What is interesting is we get to see why the gear is the way it is in AoT. We even get to see the fledgling tactics of maneuvering.Kuklo learns the identity of one of the titans and he confesses what drives him which can be seen as some of the driving values of the Survey Corps in the future.There is an extra story which explains the relationship of Maria, Angel and Sorum.On to the next one.Book 8.Sharle is worried about Kuklo. Enough to get the attention of master Xenophon who quickly distracts her.We get into the intrigue as we see Captain Bernhard and Xavi plan and the real question? Does Xavi have his own plans?There is an attack on the industrial city. Xavi springs his plan and runs into a challenger. The attackers move onto Xenophons factory. Prisoners are taken and then the counter attack begins. Kuklo really begins to show his talent.All in all a nice addition and am looking forward to the next edition.

Jorge takes Kuklo and Cardina into the industrial city inorder to hide them.Sharle appears and is happy to see Kuklo and freaks out about Cardina.We get to meet a cool character named Xenophon. A good mix of crazy and brilliant. The device is explained more and Kuklo makes a grand decision. What follows is more insight into Kuklo and more backstory around the time he was born.I always like a crazy brilliant guy who likes to drink. Xenophon is somebody I hope to see more in future issues. I also liked the insight into Kuklos world view.On to the next one.

I enjoyed this story. After keeping up with the original story of Attack on Titan, I found that this story was really interesting. I'm excited to see where it goes from here after meeting the characters Kuklo, the Titan's Son, and Sharle. I am excited to see what adventures they embark on as well as learn about the creation of the 3D maneuver gear.Yet, even though I am quite interested in this story, I did not expect it to be a manga. Before the Fall was originally a Light Novel in Japan and this is what I had been hoping to receive (translated into English of course). Sadly, this was not the Light Novel I wanted, but again the story is good. Hopefully, they will get around to translating the Light Novel into English.I can't complain about a good story. It felt a bit rushed at parts though. I'm not quite sure if that was how the story was meant to play out or if there are some details that we are missing that were not able to be captured within the manga. I'm not sure how other's feel about this, but it is my own personal interpretation.I would recommend this manga to others.

Sharle is doing well and is given an opportunity. Insurgents plan and attack the industrial city. Sharle and Xenophon are captured and the Military Police move on the city to reclaim it.I don't like Xavi and lets leave it at that.Kuklo, Cardina, and Jorge learn what has happened and decide a rescue mission and the device will be part of it.

Eh, it just didn't grab me like the originals do. I LOVE AoT, I really do, but this just isn't up to par. It makes the people seem even more ignorant and fearful (and therefore stupid), and the protagonist doesn't seem to make up for that. I just don't care what happens to the characters enough to keep reading past book 1.

Another good volume of Before the Fall, getting ready to enter the cool parts of the story. My one gripe is the weird devotion is has to the flashback near the end. Anyone who read the BtF novel (which people should, since it's a prequel to this series!) will know everything the flashback reveals, so it should be unnecessary. Four stars because it's Before the Fall. Not five because flashback was too long.

So far this is my favorite volume of AOT: Before the fall! This was a more laid-back volume, where we get lots of information and can smile together with our main characters at least :) Yet it still makes you excited for the following events, and I personally can't wait to get my hands on volume 6.Great artwork and amazing story!

This story kind of starts out slow but the art is well drawn, I'd give it a 7.5 out of 10. It takes place 70 years before Attack on Titan and in this time the Maneuvering Gear hasn't been invented.The main character is kind of plain but I'm hoping this changes as later volumes turn up the pace on the story. A good read and I recommend it to all AoT fans.

This book could use a lot of editing. It has lots of errors in both the examples and text of the book. It is also geared for absolute beginners, not only to Python, but to programming in general. If you have any experience with basic programming concepts such as operators, if/else logic, functions, and data types such as strings, integers, floats, etc. or have even minimal working experience with any other language then this book will be a waste of time for you. It covers the absolute bare minimum for someone to learn Python syntax and the most basic concepts noted above... nothing more. If you're looking to learn to write a Python program that does anything useful, look elsewhere. If you have zero programming experience then this book will get you some familiarity with the bare minimum concepts, but don't let the book fool you into thinking you're a "programmer" with the flimsy foundation it provides.

I will not state that having read this I am anywhere near "mastering" Python, but as a new programmer (last semester I took an introductory course to Python, this next semester I will be taking a much harder, practical course) I enjoyed this book. Not in having given me some mastery of the language, but allowing me to visualize the code and how it is utilized.Using Windows 10 I installed Python 3 (to c:\python\, not c:\python36 as it recommends), Notepad++ and Cmder. I use Cmder because it is portable and I can take it with me as well as migrate all of my files and profiles. Once up and running, I was able to open and execute most files and learn from them. Some files give errors, so you will need to open them and see if you can debug it.Take Exercise 25 for instance. It covers the .append() function, yet the coding is wrong in the exercise provided. On the very page it gives you the example, it states you can only append a 'single' item in a list. Well, in the code, there are 'two' items. So delete the second and keep Biology then save Exercise25.py and there you go, you just learned something and the new code you saved will execute. There are about ten of these instances, but they did not bother me. They actually helped me see why the code did not work, and it allowed me by reading the pages to see the errors in the code. Exercise5.py is missing from the folder you download, so you can actually write that code yourself; it is quite easy, even for a beginner.Do I feel I am a master? Not even close. Am I more confident having seen the myriad different ways code can be written and executed via the cmd console? Absolutely. I am new to Python, but having read this and worked through its exercises I know I can face the challenge of harder material in the future.tl;drThis book will not make you a master, but it will allow you to visualize when/how code is used in so many ways. I am glad I bought this book. It has given me much confidence I need for the challenge that is Python in the days to come.

I have solid programming foundation and I just needed a book that will introduce me to Python syntax in a logical sequence. The book gives an excellent coverage for the basic features of Python and you can start programming in no time. Unfortunately, there are many typos in terms of spelling as well as small & capital letters as the language is case-sensitive. Other than that, this is a very good book to start Python for anyone with good programming background (in any other OOP language).
