This book is very enlightening. If you are a spiritual person and believe in a greater power of a creator within us then this book is a must read. Follow the instructions and practice the power of your imagination with all your heart, faith and trust and you should be able to achieve your desires. Neville has a way to interpret the Bible which makes sense to me. It is a book on creation and the writers personified the stories so people could understand but in reality the stories are based upon consciouness. The key is to assume the desire believe it as it has happened already and focus on the feeling and use all your 5 senses to image it. Jesus preached it many times in the Bible saying that when you pray believe as if God the father has already answered your prayer. This is the science of mind. Give your desire vitality and practice day and night, learn to control your thoughts and form strong mental images of your desire. One last thing always keep the Golden rule in mind. Only desire what is good and in harmony for yourself and others. If you use your mental imagination for evil, it will come back to you and have repercussions. It is a universal law! Think only good thoughts in your mind of love,harmony, prosperity and health, because in the end everyone wants to feel loved, safe and secure while we live in this life time and enjoy life. We all have free will so you are the decision maker and can control your thoughts. Catch yourself if you get a negative thought, immediately replace it with a positive thought. This takes practice, but practice makes perfect. Remember it all starts with imagination. If reality is telling you one thing and you want something else, see yourself as being or having the thing that you want to be. Perserverence will get you there and don't push it as to cause resistance, practice allowing things to flow naturally in faith in God. I am on board and I am now practicing these techniques and have good feelings about it and will continue to practice so I can realize as many desires as God gives to me. I have read many books on the Law of Attraction and books written by other New Thought authors. Neville resonates with me. I suggest you read other books and try multiple techniques to impress the subconcious mind until you find the author or instructor that works for you. I truly enjoy Neville's teachings.. Many people will read what Neville says but never really ingrain it into their mind.Neville makes his claim and people say he is crazy or confused or even leading them astray because they DO NOT UNDERSTAND what he is saying.Read this book over and over and let it be understood and keep reading it to keep it inside!

I get this! I get this! I get this! Reality is our driver seat, and imagination is our fuel right down to creation/existence. He couches it so simply though that it will go over many heads.

I love Goddard’s work. Here this book is a transcription from a lecture given and because it reads like spoken words it takes a minute to formulate the construct of his topic verse his actual written literary works. The idea is the same and he continues to challenge the mind in understand the true source of our search for God. If one is on the spiritual journey then Neville Goddards books are a good place to start. Highly recommend The Power of the Imagination. This book reads like cliff notes. I truly enjoyed it.

Neville takes a long time getting to the point in this book. He quotes Bible scriptures excessively in this book. I had to sift through the Bible scriptures to get to the main point. Alot of material in this book is a repeat of his other books.

This is an excellent summation of how faith reflects God's existence inside of you. Do not confuse semantics with the actual message- this book will help restore your Self-awareness in your faith

I really like how he parralels the teachings of the Bible with his insights. He reminds me of Ernest Holmes with the twist that our imaginations are the everlasting Holy Spirit which is of God.I am reading everything I can find. He really has helped me feel much more empowered.

An insightful reminder of who I am and my responsibility to myself and in turn to creation. Creation is all there is and so I am a creator and so are you.

I found that reading this cover-to-cover was too difficult to keep everything and everyone straight, so I read each story separately reading every other chapter. I thought each story was told well and the main characters well developed. I felt like I knew each of them. Their horrific experiences reminded me of how unprepared we really are to live in this world of nature. I learned some very valuable tips on survival in a very entertaining way. In my opinion, a good read.

"Lost in the Wild" is one of those books where you really want to see what happens next. Just one more chapter. Okay one more. It's an easy read that's hard to put down.The book follows the unfortunate misadventures of two different people who get lost in the woods. Two separate stories that take place in different places and different times. The book goes back and forth between the two, showing how each person got lost and what happened afterwards. The details are interesting, especially since I spend a lot of time in the backcountry myself, and the author does a great job of making us understand how perfectly capable people get into bad situations. Both stories are compelling and the reader gets to know not only those who are lost, but their companions, rescuers, families, etc. All in all it's an enjoyable book that keeps you turning pages to see what happens next.The only drawback is that, in hopping back and forth, sometimes one story can get confused with another, temporarily. Once both victims are lost, on foot, in similar environments, there are too many similarities to keep straight all the time. Maybe that's just me (and not a problem that others will have), but two stories farther apart or in different conditions might have been easier to separate.All in all a good book for anyone interested in adventure, exploration, or survival.

This is truly a captivating read of two real life stories of survival in the NE wilds of the Wisconsin woods. I highly recommend it for anyone going on a hike even if it is a "short day hike", which could easily turn into an unexpected accident or unprepared situation.That being said, while the stories are well written and give you the feeling of "being there and experiencing the traumatic situations", I found it a bit disconcerting to follow as the two stories flip-flopped back and forth with each chapter. A single story does have its own natural flipping....from the main character to either different ones or different places, but it is a bit more of a challenge in this book with two main different stories flipping. I do not fault the writer (as the writing was excellent, indeed) but moreso the editor that allowed the book to be put together in this fashion.Many people read one or two books at a time like I do, or have to put the book down after each chapter and find, that in this book, you have to almost go back and review what story you are following. This is my only criticism. Otherwise, a TOP notch book with great information for campers, hikers, and chairside adventurers.

What could possibly go wrong? A cautionary tale of heading into the woods.I loved how this book showed the myriad small decisions that created a dangerous situation. I know that "I couldn't put it down" is quite a book review cliche, but in this case, it's completely true. As a backpacker, this book made me realize many things that I could do differently to be safer each time I go on an adventure. For those who are "outdoorsy," or enjoy suspense, this is a good read. The author has done due diligence in researching the story, and tells it in a thorough, interesting, and unbiased manner.

They die of shame. At least they do according to Anthony Hopkins' character in "The Edge," they die of shame because they allowed themselves to end up in positions where they are lost and without resources. I read this engrossing tale in just a couple of sittings. What struck me most was that both men did what seemed to me to be very foolish things. Even a wilderness ignoramus like myself wouldn't wander into the woods alone without matches, an emergency blanket, some protection from the elements and some high calorie food. Even if it was only a few hundred yards. Even if it was only supposed to be for a few minutes. Read the book and shake your head at some of the things they did, especially the med student hiker who lost the trail and then left his tent and supplies and wandered away and lost those too. These are fascinating stories. I recommend this book.

I looked forward to reading from this book whenever I could. I enjoy wilderness survival stories and found this one to be well-researched and written. I haven't ever been to Northern Minnesota so the book taught me about the wilderness there and delivered a home run on the survival stories. The author did a good job of transitioning back and forth between two survival stories separated in time, but in the same general area. There were about 20 awkward words that caused me to pause and scratch my head as to the meaning . . . simpler words could have been used to make the sentences flow more smoothly. Lost in the Wild is a good book to read for anyone venturing out into the wilderness. There are some good lessons-learned from these characters. It is amazing how quickly you can get lost in the wild. If you like real outdoor adventure stories, you may also consider reading Rocky Mountain Adventure Collection. This is a wonderful little book about a great African-Canadian boxer whose name has mostly been lost to history. I first came across George Dixon -- also known as "Little Chocolate" -- while doing research on old mental hospital records from Delaware. An African-American man was arrested in the early 1900s in Wilmington, Delaware for being drunk and disorderly. After singing and dancing for the police officers, and then setting his clothes on fire at the jail, he was sent off to the mental hospital. There he pretended to be the famous (at the time) boxing champion George Dixon. The authorities didn't believe him, even though he reported many details of George's life accurately, except that he said his first name was John. After a couple of weeks in the mental hospital, he was deemed once again sober and rational and he was released. In my efforts to track down whether this could have actually been the real George Dixon, I stumbled across this nice biography of him. He did seem to have a problem with drinking and partying, but apparently never spent time in the Delaware State Hospital. Nonetheless, this is a fascinating, well-written book that provides plenty of interesting information about his life and career. Too bad he has been mostly forgotten.

A dense, conplext, systematic work of philosophy that avoids that cardinal sin which so many commit: lack of a proper historical sense.In both boooks, the prose is second-to-none.

The "Genealogy of Morals" itself is what it is. There are many others who have done a more critical review of it than I can provide. However, what I am dissatisfied with is the quality of the Kindle edition of this book. It's terrible! It looks like the publisher scanned a printed version of the book, ran it through an OCR, and published it straight to the electronic version without passing it through any kind of editing process. There are so many examples of incorrect character recognition of the printed type that it distracts from the book content. For example: "What is present-day Nihilism if it is n.)t that?" (Kindle Locations 548-549). What is a n.)t? Nietzsche already has a unique style of writing, so it's hard to distinguish between what he meant to say and what is printed in this electronic version. Another example: "...the odour of the entrails of a misbegotten soul! - ? That excepted..." (Kindle Locations 537-538). Did he actually write ! - ?, or is that another misprint. Do I look for meaning in this (as small things like this in philosophy can actually have meaning), or can I ignore it as an artifact of sloppy electronic translation? It can be very frustrating at times.Update (I'll post these mistakes as I come across them):commas!: "...we have "utility," "forgetting." "habit." and finally "error," the whole..." (Kindle Location 284)wrong parentheses: "...got to lick {not out of fear, not at all out of fear! But because God ordains that one should honour all authority)..."(Kindle Locations 596-597)random f--f the triumph?: "...what they demand they call not revenge but f the triumph of righteousness..." (Kindle Locations 604-605)On second thought, I'm not getting paid to edit this book. You get the idea--there are many, many mistakes in this electronic version, so be prepared.

Nietzsche is Nietzsche. Stunning insights mixed with nonsense all make for a subversive but fascinating text. Too insightful to ignore!

Cream of the crop.Kaufman and Hollingdale deserve a medal for the work they've done here. A true gem of a book!Soooo happy it's still in print!

Best of Nietzsche, with the best translation. Many people misunderstand Nietzsche because they don't have a wholistic view of his philosophy. This book rectifies that. Many think Nietzsche is a nihilist. Not at all. A very good and comprehensive read, and edition.

Book came swiftly without any issues. :)

Quality paperback (I am not a fan of paperbacks, and prefer hardbacks) and good translation. If you want to read an interesting work on ethics and morality, read this book.
