Anthony Faulkes translation. I bought this edition for the Skaldsparmal/Hattatal, not always translated in this Edda. This particular edition (purchased used) was in excellent condition (as described +1, I'd say), promptly dispatched, and an excellent value for money over-all. Aces all 'round!!

I love me some Norse mythology. This is the book you need to scratch the itch.It covers a lot of the creation myths, the god myths, and the extended reach of the North people. However, it isn't a composite of the myths broken down to digest. Instead, these are the tales of the people. If you like good tales, you should buy this. It works a lot better if you read it aloud too.

I sampled four of the Prose Eddas before I bought this one. I deleted it from my Kindle after two chapters. Unreadable. The front matter is better done elsewhere, explaining the Edda's history, but the Prose Edda itself is, to my American brain, quite garbled and non-linear.

This is where so many stories come from. This translation is understandable and seems to be the most complete that I've read.

This is a classic book and the only one of it's kind, so it is a must have in my opinion. The packaging was fine, but the book inside was not. I was disappointed by the fact I bought a new book and received one with the front cover torn and looking used. I could have purchased a used book for much less with no damage.

Excellent translation, a must-read for those looking to explore the mythology and mystery teachings of the ancient Nordic culture.

I can't speak to the accuracy of the translation, but others with more knowledge have done so. As a neophyte coming to the Prose Edda, however, this translation was clear - I downloaded a second translation for places where I might get stuck, but didn't really need it in this case. Much like the Arabian Nights, there is an outer framework within which the tales are told, first as an exchange of wisdom, then as illustrations in how Edda should be written. It wasn't what I expected, but it was illuminating.

This edition looks like they photocopied papers to print the pages, it contains several printing errors. We have ordered a different paperback copy and will see how that one is. This is way to expensive for what you get. I have included pictures so others have a good idea of what they are buying.

This book was good for an introduction. However, I found myself wanting more. The Red Hat Documentation on KVM was used to augment my studies after reading this book.

Excellent book!

I was hoping for something more. Something that might provide some additional insight into how to master KVM. But this is just a basic KVM on Fedora Linux setup walkthrough.

I read the whole book and found so much information on topics like KVM internal, Software Defined Networking, Ovirt, Openstack, Performance issues, V2V/P2V. I have never found a single book which covers all topics related to KVM. This book deserves more then 5 stars.

This is a must-have for those interested in open source virtualization. It's well written with easy examples and comprehensive architectures. Moreover, Humble Chirammal is one of the most skilled KVM, Kubernetes and Gluster hacker around. Simply the best KVM book I have read so far.

An excellent book on virtualization, I havent found any book which detail the internals and details of virtualization technology. A simple book to read, packed with practical trading knowledge you can use. You will learn a lot on KVM, Qemu, Libvirt..etc from this book. I recommend this book for everyone who use virtualization or want to learn about virtualization.

Interesting. Reading it with "a grain of salt", meaning yes, giving actual money a.k.a. CASH may help some but 2 words are together: "may" and "some". How many people gambled away their family fortune, life savings or are now in Gambling Anonymous. As he states in the book Utopia means "good place" as well as "no place". Someone once said socialism works until the other guy runs out of money.

What I liked most about this book is that it was a breezy read that appeared to effortlessly pound the reader with some pretty challenging concepts, but in the end I enjoyed it anyway. I took away the some pretty good ideas about how social change occurs and the role of Utopian thought in that change. In this respect it is the perfect balm for these treacherous times when things look rather dark and hopeless. I know we will all emerge on the other side but I often fear we will not be better for wear. This book inspires us how to prepare for the worst yet to come, and hopefully emerge on the other side knowing that a better world is possible!

Read it as part of a Dystopian book club. What a terrific book, made a lot of sense and backed it all up with a comprehensive bibliography.

Some interesting and thought provoking ideas, although some of the logic is a little shakey.

Different from a traditional travel book more of a supplement. Not easy to find travel guides on the Ukraine so wanted to try this out. This is a quick read but has some solid tips. Based on the price I think it's worth the purchase.

Good one and some information "behind the scenes", written by someone actually lived in the country. Good info regarding Lviv and Kyiv, and also some general info regarding the country and the people.

I needed more indepth research help than this gave. overall, it seemed very simplified to me, perhaps because I'm a medium to advanced researcher. I've run up against an ancestress who's only apparent record is her tombstone. the family moved a lot, ended up in a burned county, and has been somewhat to very difficult to research. there's apparently no available records for them in VA or TN, little in IL and little in MO, and all but one of 12 children died before 1850. this book is fine for simple problems but doesn't work for mine.

I loved this and much like my other reviews for the genealogy books I have been doing genealogy research for my and other families for other thirteen years so many of these books have repeat or already known info but this book offered those repeated tips and new information which was greatly appreciated.I gave this a five also because if I had found this book when If first started it would have saved me YEARS off my research for many of my female ancestors because once you understand the system and get the tips and tricks you can really get a swing going at finding the females that seem to be "hiding"...

Well-written, well-organized and enjoyable to read, this outstanding genealogical research tool provides an excellent in-depth, insightful, integrated approach to genealogical research, particularly focused on researching our female family members. It contains a good explanation of means of tracing women when their surnames have changed, and very extensive bibliographies that are exhaustively research sources on women's property rights, childbearing and women's health care. It sets out a well-explained technique of developing, writing and preserving one's family story as an organized historical narrative, with all the information one has obtained, so that the information paints a family's portrait(s), gives meaning to facts, organizes the source materials logically, and helps to tell the family who they are, why they are the way they are, and where they came from so that the family's history is preserved. This aspect of the book provides a much needed explanation to "weekend" genealogists on how to handle and develop their research results to make sense of them and to preserve the meaning of them. This is a thoroughly analyzed and helpful book. I have given copies of this book to several people as it responds to research needs at several levels: genealogy, women's rights and issues (property, health, probate/will), family history interests, research skills, even personal journaling and self-discovery through family discovery.Sharon DeBartolo Carmack has an outstanding ability to teach, and I hope she will continue to expand on her collection of genealogy research books.

This is a good start for the novice. Most techniques I already knew. I think there were a couple of things I learned, but not much else. It is not a bad book.
