Review

"As someone who was diagnosed with celiac disease at age 13, I'm thrilled that these girls took on the task of writing this book at such a young age. I could only wish that I had such a book to read during my first years of being gluten free. This book is wonderfully written, incredibly relatable, and it has a little something for everyone who is on a gluten-free journey. I strongly recommend adding this book to your collection as it is truly one of a kind and a read you won't regret."-Taylor Miller, celiac advocate, gluten-free blogger, and co-owner of HaleLife Bakery"Honest, authentic, and endlessly inspiring, Everyone's Got Something is an upbeat take on life with celiac-and all of the joy and beauty that can still be found despite, and because of, a life-changing diagnosis like celiac. Empowering and uplifting-and exactly what all celiac patients need to hear." -Jessica Press, celiac patient, mom of a celiac kid, and journalist who has written about celiac disease for Gluten-Free Living Magazine and The New York Times Education Life section"WOW! This is amazing! I am so glad you wrote this! This is a very special book that is going to be of such help to so many people. It can definitely serve as a resource for parents as well!"-Dr. Michelle Daniel, psychologist who has celiac disease and is a parent to a teenager with celiac disease"I think this book will benefit everyone who reads it! Although I knew most of the facts, it was nice to read about someone else who went through what I went and am still going through. Lexi, the main point character, reminded me of things I experienced. For example, I also had a dream that I was eating bread the first night I was gluten free! The story is written in an easy-to-read and sometimes funny way."-Arielle Farber, age 12, diagnosed with celiac disease"Hallie and Rayna do a fantastic job transforming a daunting diagnosis into an exciting adventure. Lexi's journal is raw and real, and it gives me flashbacks to various points throughout my own celiac story. I love how Lexi puts a positive spin on her lifestyle change because it is true-everybody's got something, and we are lucky to have the only autoimmune disease whose trigger is known! I am so glad Hallie and Rayna have given the celiac community a fun, relatable story for preteens and teenagers."-Kelly Okun, professional golfer, diagnosed with celiac disease in 2012

This is the perfect reading for families dealing with celiac disease. Children and young adults can easily relate to Lexi (the fictional character created by the authors); and parents and caregivers can see the disease through the eyes of the patients.Very informative, yet very pleasant reading. (The semi-homemade brownie recipe is a must-bake!)

The book really helped me understand what my nieces were going through when they were first diagnosed with celiac disease. It also helped my kids relate to and show empathy for their cousins. And everyone LOVES the brownie recipe - - it's a crowd pleaser!

Diagnosed with celiac disease at the age of 37, I found this book both informative and fun to read! So glad that pre teens/teens will now have a resource that is resourceful and fun! I plan on passing this book to my family to read as well. Thank you for writing this!!!

This book exudes warmth and charm. It uses the authors' actual experiences to guide the newly diagnosed teen through the emotional and physical roller-coaster that accompanies such an enormous life change. It's humorous and honest, and speaks the language of today's teenager. I highly recommend it!

this book is absolutely amazing! it is inspiring and so heartfelt!
