I am a Wharton MBA graduate who will be teaching a survey course on business on the MBA level. To do this, I researched far and wide for the best book I could find to serve as a textbook and this beats all others hands-down. Thumbs up. It is comprehensive, current, well-written, and delivers the skills taught in America's top business schools in a highly reader-friendly manner. Every "nook and cranny" of business is covered. Day 10 with its Minicourses closes the loop. Certainly, it is not a substitute for the in-depth manner by which these principles, concepts, theories, practices would be garnered by taking numerous courses needed to earn an MBA degree. It is not a substitute for earning an MBA degree. However, it will serve as a valuable source of material upon which to learn to some depth of the various business disciplines as you move into or early-on through earning an MBA degree. To serve you well post-degree as a reference relative a comprehensive view of business. Enabling one to go out into the business world with an interdisciplinary, synthesized knowledge of business' various disciplines upon which to draw upon and be effective, successful. I buy a lot of books on business and sadly, most of the books I get usually don't give me any real information. The Ten Day MBA is different. I never got my MBA and have been running a business for the past two years. I read this book, divided into 10 chapters of the most basic information you need to know about business and all the sudden everything became clear. If you run a business or are thinking of starting a business, THIS IS THE BOOK YOU NEED TO READ!!! It will give you EXACTLY the information you've been missing. If you're stuck in your business, BUY, BORROW OR STEAL THIS BOOK!!! I promise you will not be disappointed.

After receiving my MBA, I looked for a book that best summarized the MBA knowledge base that I could use as a resource to review periodically to keep infrequently used knowledge fresh. This is the book. I read the 3rd addition and now read the 4th edition and will keep reading it as a best one stop shop for an MBA in one book. It is well written, concise and covers everything I covered in my MBA program. I read it in 8 days. 10 should not be a problem even if somewhat busy.I also recommend this book for those considering a MBA. If this book doesn't interest you then you should really consider whether you want to get an MBA or pursue another path in furthering your career.

Whether or not you are getting your MBA, this book provides excellent summaries of MBA course material to give you a strong foundation. I use it as a supplement to my MBA classes... Before I take a particular class, I'll read through and study its respective chapter in this book, and come into class much more confidently with a good base of understanding for the material.Like many, I came into my MBA program with a non-related BA (Poli Sci), which provided very little application to the core courses (eg. Econ, Accounting, Data Sets and Models). In fact, my last math class of any kind was pre-Algebra in HS and Statistics my freshman year of college. Although this book didn't magically teach me the math skills needed, it sent me far enough along the way to be successful in class.Bonus! It even has a diploma at the end of the book that you can FRAME!!

Love the concept of this book and all the information it gives.Just be sure to get yourself the most recent edition, as THIS edition would likely seem dated by today's standards and methods of doing business.

A friend recommended this book to me. Very insightful and useful to build a foundation. Would definitely recommend for anyone looking to get a bit of intuition or feel for business world considerations going into a first job or similar situation. I would also recommend it for someone in academia but in a business related field to get a feel for business operations and needs. My situation was hybrid- coming out of academia into a business world job search, and I found it very helpful to frame a lot of things I heard or saw on the job market and am looking forward to seeing how it will help me on the job as well.

this book is a great review of what you would learn in an MBA program, what you would need to change your company or decision making. It has the potential to become a bible businessmen need in their officer.

I am crash coursing everything I can get my hands on before starting up my own business. I am SOOO VERY GLAD I bought this book. Normally a book this size I can get through n a couple of days. This book has so much information it is taking me much longer to do, (I have NO business back ground from college of any significant substance,.) Having said that, as a complete newbie to this field, this book is worth ts weight n solid gold!. Now I know why the business and accounting majors in college were groaning when they talked about accounting classes and economics. LOL. I have a much better insight to what i need to do before I officially start this business I am planning.
