WORST BOOK EVER!!!! How did this book make it to publication???????? It is written in all black and white with grainy pictures that look like they were drawn by a 10 year old (and these are the authors pics) MOST OF THE BOOK is written as Q and A from various people and her wimpy responses.."yes, your picture of an eye looks good just need to make the iris a little bigger..." UGH! what a waste of money!!!!! THIS is why it is hard buying books on Amazon....because you can't page thru it and really get a feel for it. They show the "high" points in preview.....there are NO HIGH POINTS HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is a great book to bring your skills to the next level. As you progress through the techniques in Ms. Holmes' earlier books, this one helps deepen your drawings. It taught me to embrace the darker shades to enhance depth and emphasize the lighter tones and focal points. Thank you!

This book treats a core drawing competency, shading, both directly and in the context of drawing generally. Holmes excels because she has the hands and eyes of an artist and . . . the heart of a teacher. Enjoyable, well-illustrated lessons. I recommend it!

It has alot of good descriptions on shading different things. Haven't made it all the way through yet, but I like what I have seen.

My grandson was very pleased to receive the Shading techniques book. It helped him a lot. He had problem areas and the book helped him to be able to correct his mistakes. He is very happy with the book.

This is a curious and intriguing story. Two middle/high schoolers, both quiet types. She’s a little more outgoing and she wonders about Space Boy. I like her; she knows instinctively what to do with a pile of autumn leaves. He’s a little shy, has a big heart, and he’s lonely. And, oh yes, he’s being spied on and that’s probably not a good thing. The two meet and get to know each other, but soon they’re in a dangerous situation. Space Boy/Oliver shows his stuff, kind of like McGyver. More to come in the next book and so worth waiting for. There are still many things to be discovered!Author/illustrator McCrainie is a tremendously talented artist and he knows how teens and pre-teens think. This is a graphic novel at its best with a science fiction backdrop. You don’t need to read Vol 1 first to understand this one, but it’ll be a treat if you do. As a librarian, I’d recommend this to all.

I initially avoided this series due to the art style not appealing to me at first glance (kind of a Jetsons vibe), but once I began reading I was immediately attached to the characters and engrossed in the story as both the art and plot evolved (the cover represents the current style, as compared to the initial style inside these earlier chapters). I have one scene saved as my wallpaper on my phone and have not changed it since. This an incredibly unique story, and though the pace may seem a bit slow at the start, you will remain intrigued by the characters and the mysteries that arise. You must buy all volumes available, as you will go through all of them at once.

This graphic novel is so gripping! The author/artist, Stephen McCranie, is very talented! This is a great read.- The package was a bit cramped inside my mailbox, so the book was bent a bit+ no serious damage done+ shipping was on time+ book arrived in new conditionI've been a fan of this comic since it's been online, on Webtoon. I think it's a great read. The art and story are both amazing- a good combination. Another thing I really appreciate from the author is that the comic is clean- no swear words! My 13 year old daughter just recently got into graphic novels and was very happy with this series. She reread book #1 before reading this and can't wait for book #3 to be released.

I love this series on WEBTOON and was very pleased to find that the panels translated VERY well to book form. Love that the spine matches the first novel! Can’t wait for the third one :)

McCranie's Space Boy series is a perfect blend of sci-fi, teen romance, and action thriller, with a thread of heart that runs through the whole thing. I'm pre-ordering all the volumes!

Space Boy is my favorite comic to read and I am so excited to have it in print! The book turned out beautifully and I have read it several times now. This story is great for all ages and always helps me feel better when I am feeling down. It is worth way more than a few bucks. I would definitely recommend!!

This book goes with Professor Jackson's class on Coursera. It's got a lot of math, but it's not overwhelming, the heaviest stuff is split into an advanced track of non-credit problems. I enjoyed the class enough I plan on repeating it next time its offered.

This is the best combination of practical and technical presentation I've seen for this material.

I like this book very much. It has the right balance, in my view, between verbal and 'social science' explanations, and mathematical expositions. It provides enough mathematical background for those who do not have it, as well as social and economic background and motivation. I intend to use some chapters in this book for a "Networks" course I will teach.

This book is a very useful approach to the social and economic networks by an interesting mathematical view. The exposition is no very difficult as calculations, if one knows sufficiently the game theory. This method is a mix by the Statistics and the Graph theory, while a significative role is related to the Bayes formula. This theory depends in large part by the game theory, let be cooperative or not-cooperative. The applications are about the biology, next the sociology and the economics.

Amazing content and clarity even for the non expert (like me). It helped me design a SW application for my clients.

I just finished reading Dr. Elizabeth Lombardo's wonderful book A Happy You. I love the way the book is organized into alphabetical lessons like "I for Inspiration," and "R for Relaxation." As a busy mom who doesn't typically have long chunks of time to sit and savor a book, this format works really well for me. The book is inspirational but is also filled with lots of helpful, practical information. The "prescriptions" at the end of each chapter give small actionable steps that I can take to increase my happiness. I love the way the author shares a story about someone's breakthrough to happiness and then gives their web site. I often want to read more about that particular person, so that's a big time saver for a busy mom like me! This is a book that has already had an impact on my life and I will recommend it to friends and family. Terrific book!

I am a tremendous fan of Rev. Adam Hamilton and have read 16 of his books. The reason I say this is because I do not want to be critical of Revival in any way. If you are looking for a book providing a biography of John Wesley, I think you will be disappointed with this book. In fact, Hamilton says in his introduction that he is not trying to write a book telling about the beliefs and practices of Wesley. There are many fine books that do this by authors like Henry Rack, Kenneth Collins, Stephen Tomkins, Robert Tuttle, and Ronald Stone to name a few. What sets this book apart from many of the others is that Hamilton reviews Wesley's life with brief historical comments, examples of his faith, experiences finding his true meaning of salvation and trials causing him to question his own salvation. Hamilton verbally paints a psychological picture of Wesley's beliefs, personal conflicts, and motivational stimuli that drives the founder of Methodism to establish practices different than the Church of England and the theologies of his time. But Hamilton evens goes further by bringing a personal touch throughout the book through inserting examples from his church and pastoral experience. I don't think anyone will be disappointed if they realize this is not a historical biography.

Adam Hamilton takes his readers on a journey to England to explore the life of John Wesley and the founding of the Methodist church. His story examines the conviction of worship ( and sometimes lack of) during John Wesley's life and how Wesley and his followers set about making true disciples of Christ. The importance of head and heart are emphasized. Passion to follow Christ (heart) but also study of the Bible ( head) is an integral part of Christianity for Methodists. This book also focus on the need to serve the poor, the sick, the imprisoned not to be saved but because of salvation we are called to walk as Christ walked. A good read for any Christian but of particular interest to those who practice the Methodist faith.

This book by noted Methodist pastor and thinker Adam Hamilton is one of his best works, and one of - if not THE - best Methodist "primers" out there. History, Theology, reflection and exhortation are wrapped up in this clearly-written and easily accessible work. This one is for anyone from confirmand, to new member, to life-long disciple, to seminary professor, to pastor to "read, mark, learn and inwardly digest." Worth your money to buy it, your time to study it - and your application to everyday discipleship.

Hamilton is a master when it comes to converting sermon series into small group studies. Most Methodist churches with which I have been associated seem to have drifted away from Wesley. This series is a good way to reconnect.

This book was very interesting and informative about the life of John Wesley. Since I am a life long Methodist, I knew some things about Wesley, but learned a lot from the book that I did not know. The only negative I had was that the author would inject some things into the story of his own dealings as a pastor which disrupted the flow and would have been better placed at the end of each chapter. We used this book as a guide in a Bible study class.

Good. It gave our group a good understanding of Wesley's faith and practices. I did find it somewhat spiritually uplifting. I did not feel as excited as I did with his "The Journey" and "24 Hours That Saved the World". We also used the DVD. It was nice to see Hamilton in the buildings and lands where Wesley grew and flourished. However, the DVD did not provide additional information to the book as did "The Journey" and "24 Horus That Saved the World". I also used the leader's guide. It was helpful, but not as much as I usually expect from leaders's guides.

Written authoritatively, the information is interesting to Methodists and others curious about how successful churches work. Successful churches are perceived personally relevant to those who seriously want to grow spiritually. I feel well informed about John and Charles Wesley's role and intent; and the impact they made thorough persistence through personal as well as the great religious and social difficulties of their era. The book may help nominal Christians to get more involved in their church's small groups to facilitate working together to make a difference. For me Adam Hamilton's book is a model for understanding the beneficial impact of small groups who intentionally take on a role of leadership in the areas their church needs clarity, alignment, focus and movement through actively involved lay leadership.

We read this as a group at church and did a study on it every week until it was completed. It was a very easy read and was nothing of what I thought it would be. I enjoyed reading about Wesley and how and where he lived. My heart broke for him as he lost his love but then soared when he found another in God!! I recommend this as a study for a group or an individual. We also used the dvd with it as well and it had many shots of the places where Wesley visited or lived or preached. This helped with picturing everything instead of just reading about it.
