I like the fact that there are warmups included with the drills. I'm looking forward to incorporating these drills into our spring sessions. Every coach has a different view and different style and we can all learn something from each other. I have been coaching youth soccer for 12 years now and I picked up some very good activities for me to run for my u12 team. I am really enjoying the book!

While it doesn't offer many new insights on this age group, in terms of coaching, it is a solid look at the U12 age group challenges and offers a variety of activities that can be effectively incorporated into training. The game applications outlined in each activity are pretty spot on.

Fairly well written guidebook. Touches on all the major spots, a little Thai lesson and what I find missing from guidebooks is a small section on womens health and where to find products and services. Wish I would have had some of that info on my first trip.

I've been wanting to read this book for a long time, and I was not disappointed. It provides the history behind Israel's unique culture, and gives real-life examples of how Israelis and Americans interact in professional and social contexts: everything from company negotiations to chit-chat at a ballgame to our contrasting views on what constitutes good service at the supermarket. Sometimes it made me laugh, because it was so very true to my experience. I also had a light-bulb moment on how I (as an American) had misunderstood my Israeli neighbor's repeated invitations, and the best way to meet her expectations.

Though a bit out of date in terms of examples and "contemporary" descriptions, the principles of cross-cultural (mis-)understanding still hold true, and the comparison tables and communication tools are spot on and accurate.

A real and eye opening book that highlights cultural differences.

The United States and Israel are two modern industrial and hitech powers. Forms of government and political freedoms are similar. Both are innovative in industry and fast-moving in business. And Israelis speak English very well. But to go from those similarities to being able to avoid surprises at work between these two cultures you need a guide. "Border Crossings" is an impressively even-handed and accurate guide. Lucy Shahar and David Kurz start with a short history and background of the country and its people, with accurate, if minimal mentions of the Arab population, both citizens and non-citizens. The book continues with impressions and interpretations of what an American sees visiting Israel, and leads into specific scenes on the street, in stores and government offices, and finally, in the workplace. Covers Americans working and doing business in Israel, as well as Israelis representing their companies in America. No book is a substitute for actual experience, but "Border Crossings" really is the next best thing to being there.

I have been meaning to go through this book for a nearly a year now.As an Israeli studying in the US (3.5 years now) American social sub-text and norms continues to confuse me, even with people i refer to as close-friends.While the book is 20 years old, and is partially outdated (at least in some aspects in regards to Israeli culture), It really is a must read, if you're an Israeli in the US or an American in Israel, or if you have friends from either country and you wish to understand their social behavior better.A small side-note to the authors: I think the book would benefit from a 21st century way of life and social interactions update; especially with how global and small the world has become with the use of Facebook, Twitter and other social media websites.

I work in a multinational company and am in daily contact with colleagues and clients abroad. They come from r&d, marketing and sales. When I read the book, everything clicked. All of a sudden, I understood why problems dealing with contracts, managing time and solving conflicts had arisen in the past. "Border Crossings" also gave me some good ideas about how to solve intercultural conflicts. When I first started out, I needed a dictionary to understand the language. Now that I understand the language, I need a cultural interpreter to figure out what the words and behavior really mean. "Border Crossings" is my interpreter.

This is an easy read with a lot of insight. They are very good about reminding the reader that their findings are framework for building professional relationships, not meant to enable stereotypes. I would recommend this book to others doing business with Israeli's or as well as Jewish Americans as there is history that many "Americans" have not been enlightened with. An easy and quick read for the business person.

A must have. I bought the book because I am Palestinian and wanted to have a cookbook with Palestinian food recipes, although I thought I won't be using a lot because most of Arabic food takes alot of time to prepare. But I was wrong, this books has great recipes for very yummy and delicious meals that could be prepared in half an hour. Perfect for ideas for quick, delicious and healthy dinners /lunch. I will order few books to give as gifts to my friends.

Great cookbook, bought it for my mom for her birthday. We are Palestinian and she is already an excellent cook, which can be attributed to years pouring over Sahtein, the only cookbook previously allowed in our house.This one is exceptional because of the pictures, the recipes are also simple to follow. The spice making guide at the begginning is also great, I never saw the directions for making Baharat before.Thank you so much

Delicious recipes. Palestinian food the way it is supposed to be; clean and full of color. Joudie tries to go back to the root of the dishes to preserve the authentic Palestinian culture and diet. I enjoyed making many of the dishes in this book. If you follow her directions you will never go wrong.

Gr 7 Up—Leaving behind the cult of domesticity and the traditional belief that a woman's place was in the home, the 16 women highlighted in this volume put their ambitions and convictions into action. At a time when women had few legal rights and could not vote, these figures took an active role in the Civil War by disguising themselves as men in order to fight or act as spies. They worked as nurses and found ways to assist soldiers on the battlefields. Spies included Harriet Tubman and Mary Jane Richards, who was planted in the Confederate White House to gather information. Georgeanna Woolsey is an example of one of the more than 21,000 women who were on the army payroll as nurses. Some women served as vivandières—women who were hired as cooks or laundresses and paid by the soldiers. One such woman was Annie Lorinda Etheridge, who followed her husband into the army and became a cook and nurse for the Fifth Michigan Regiment. The book begins with an introduction, providing historical context as to why the North and the South opposed each other and covering the events leading up to South Carolina's secession from the Union, the role of slavery in this opposition (Cordell wisely does not portray white Northerners simply as saviors in the fight to abolish slavery but rather as having their own legal, economic, and ideological reasons for it), and how the start of the war stirred the hearts of Northern and Southern women alike. From Soldiers to Spies, from Nurses to Vivandières, these women's stories with inspire and intrigue you beyond your wildest imagineings! I absolutely loved this book and hope it will become required reading in every school across the United States at the very least, and even the entire world!

I really enjoyed reading this book very much. The author did an excellent job in her research. The material is interesting and engaging. I would recommend this to anyone middle school and up.

It is a great book and kept my interest with intriguing facts and great story line throughout the whole book.

The book is excellent and all ages would like to read it. The Civil War and wonderful stories of the women.

I wouldn't normally pick up a nonfiction book on the Civil War. That being said, I loved this book! I enjoyed every story. These women were amazing. So much information packed into an approachable, easy-to-read format. I'm proud to have this one on my shelf, and I look forward to having my daughter read it.

A summary of the review on StrategyPage.Com'In her first contribution to the “Women of Action” series, free lance writer Cordell offers us profiles of sixteen women who served in various ways during the Civil War, grouped into four categories, “Soldiers,” “Spies,” “Nurses,” and “Vivandiers”. Noting that thousands of women served in various ways – including perhaps 500 or so in the ranks – Cordell limits coverage of those already rather well known, such as Harriet Tubman, Loreta Velazquez, Annie Etheridge, or Sarah Emma Edmonds, so that she can offer a number of lesser known cases, such as Maria Lewis, a teenaged African-American who managed to “pass” as a Union cavalryman, the volunteer Southern nurse Susie King Taylor, the Confederate spy Mary Carroll, among others. Cordell does a good job of sorting reality from myth in the stories of some of these women, notably the self-promoting Velazquez, while introducing us to yet more young women who served in various ways. She also makes use of side-bars to help the reader understand events and aspects of contemporary military life that are likely to be unfamiliar to the younger reader. I really enjoyed reading this book, I found it to be extremely engaging and informative. I feel I learned more about the civil war reading this book than I did in both my high school and my college history courses. The author did an amazing job gathering sources, which then enabled her to provide quotes from letters and diaries that helped bring these women to life. I'd love to meet some of these women, they are amazing, and they truly feel real to me now. I highly recommend this book to anyone with a teenager, who teaches high school, or who is just interested in history. I think some middle school students would even enjoy this book.

This book is amazing! The first 20 pages had me hooked. Apostle Kim breaks down everything from operating in your coast to generational curses to everything in between. I love how she breaks down Greek and Hebrew words so you can understand what scripture means. This book is a must read! I’m already breaking curses of familiar spirits off my family.

I recommend this book to everyone who wants to gain informative knowledge to break free of the manipulations and shackles of the enemy and live the glorious and victorious life for which our Lord Jesus Christ shed his blood on the cross of Calvary two thousand years ago!!His word says (My people perish for lack of knowledge)!

I’m grateful for the work God is doing through the author. I’ve finished this book in two days and I never was a able to say that. There are so many things we know nothing about and I’m grateful for having wisdom and the ability to get even closer to God.

This book is well written with powerful prayers, it also explain in great detail about breaking curses and how to renew your mind. It is something every believer need to read. There were a lot of things that I have learned from this book and take dear to my heart! Very annointed and powerful!!! God Bless!

A must read I enjoy reading this book and she exposeing the devil behind the scenes working secretly in our lives.

When an author says God hates people being unequally yoked MORE than he hates divorce, you know you are in for a bit of twisted scripture. Nevertheless, I was still hoping for some sound theology and testimonies of deliverance. A dream about her table running round the house didn't resonate with me. Disappointing. I was hoping for something more insightful. I have read far better books on this subject. This is the only book I have removed from my device as I certainly won't refer to it again.

No doubt discussing the topic of spiritual warfare and demonic influence in all its aspects is desperately needed in the churches. The need for more prevalent prayer lifestyle is needed also. But I found myself wondering and asking repeatedly after reading: Why do I sense there is an appeal to the reader’s emotions more than to his/her heart and mind? More emotionally-charged than necessary. Secondly, I felt the author took too much liberty in interpreting the Greek text and meaning of words, as though belaboring a point. Not enough word study given that would show richness of the Greek text especially with cross references, without making it an academic exercise. The general topic strikes at the heart of life and presence and dominance of evil in the world today in all its ugly manifestations, not to mention its destruction of lives and homes and relationships. Writing is understandably tough, but the flow of the text was overly emotional. Still, prayers for the author. It’s a very touchy subject but badly needed to shed light on it and drive people to the wonderful person and presence of our Lord where even demons submit for they know who is really God more than we do.
